Their Satanic Majesties Request

A very different sounding album then their other albums, this 1967 album is psychedelic rock. It has their popular 60s song "She's a Rainbow". Other songs here are "Sing This All Together", "Citadel", "In Another Land", "2000 Man", "Sing This All Together (See What Happens)", "The Lantern", "2000 Light Years from Home", "Gomper", and "On with the Show". Psychedelic rock fans will like this album. I also like their Let It Bleed, Hot Rocks 1964-1971, Forty Licks, Live Licks, and GRRR! albums.

SMiLE

The never completed SMiLE album by The Beach Boys, from the 1966-1967 sessions, has some of the best songs in pop music, with many psychedelic songs. Some of my favorites are "Heroes and Villains", "Gee", "I'm in Great Shape", "Barnyard", "Good Vibrations", "Do You Like Worms? (Roll Plymouth Rock)", and "The Elements: Fire (Mrs. O'Leary's Cow)". I also like their Pet Sounds and Sounds of Summer: The Very Best of The Beach Boys albums.

The Very Best of The Doors

This collection has many songs from the 60s and 70s of rock band The Doors. "Light My Fire" and "Hello, I Love You" are my favorite songs. Some others I like are "Break on Through (To the Other Side)", "People Are Strange", "Touch Me", "Love Her Madly", "Riders on the Storm", "Strange Days", and "L.A. Woman".

The final album by The Jimi Hendrix Experience has some of my favorite songs by them; "Little Miss Strange" and "Come On (Let the Good Times Roll)". Other songs here are "And the Gods Made Love", "Have You Ever Been (To Electric Ladyland)", "Crosstown Traffic", "Voodoo Chile", "Long Hot Summer Night", "Gypsy Eyes", "Burning of the Midnight Lamp", "Rainy Day, Dream Away", "1983... (A Merman I Should Turn to Be)", "Moon, Turn the Tides...Gently Gently Away", "Still Raining, Still Dreaming", "House Burning Down", "All Along the Watchtower", and "Voodoo Child (Slight Return)". Electric Ladyland is a strong album, with great guitar playing by Jimi Hendrix. I also like their Are You Experienced and Axis: Bold as Love albums.

This is the second album by The Jimi Hendrix Experience. From 1967, it is blues rock and psychedelic rock. Songs here are "EXP", "Up from the Skies", "Spanish Castle Magic", "Wait Until Tomorrow ", "Ain't No Telling", "Little Wing", If 6 Was 9", "You Got Me Floatin'", "Castles Made of Sand", "She's so Fine", "One Rainy Wish", "Little Miss Lover", and "Bold as Love". I also like their Are You Experienced and Electric Ladyland albums.

Are You Experienced is the debut album by The Jimi Hendrix Experience. This 1967 album is blues rock and psychedelic rock. My favorite songs are "Purple Haze", "Fire", and "Manic Depression". Other songs here are "Hey Joe", "Love or Confusion", "May This Be Love", "The Wind Cries Mary", "I Don't Live Today", "Third Stone from the Sun", "Foxey Lady", "Are You Experienced?", "Stone Free", "51st Anniversary", "Highway Chile", "Can You See Me", "Remember" and "Red House". I also like their Axis: Bold as Love and Electric Ladyland albums.

This is a very energetic live 1968 album of psychedelic and blues rock with Janis Joplin as lead singer on songs. Recorded at Winterland in San Francisco, the songs include "Down on Me", "I Need a Man to Love", "Combination of the Two", "Piece of My Heart", "Ball and Chain", "Down on Me" and many others, all with strong vocals from Janis Joplin. I also like their Cheap Thrills album.

This 1968 album of psychedelic and blues rock is one of the best from the 60s era, with Janis Joplin as lead singer on songs. Songs include "Combination of the Two", "I Need a Man to Love", "Summertime", "Piece of My Heart", "Turtle Blues", "Oh, Sweet Mary", and "Ball and Chain". Extra songs on the 1999 edition are "Roadblock", "Flower in the Sun", "Catch Me Daddy" (Live), and "Magic of Love" (Live). I also like their Live at Winterland '68 album.

Magical Mystery Tour is rock and psychedelic rock and is one of my favorite Beatles albums. The album has many popular songs of theirs; "Strawberry Fields Forever", "Penny Lane", "All You Need Is Love", and "Hello Goodbye". Other songs here are "Magical Mystery Tour", "The Fool on the Hill", "Flying", "Blue Jay Way", "Your Mother Should Know", "I Am the Walrus", and "Baby Your're a Rich Man". Fans of psychedelic music and their Sgt. Pepper album will like this album. I also like their A Hard Day's Night, Help!, Rubber Soul, Revolver, Sgt. Pepper, The White Album, Abbey Road, Anthology 1, and 1 albums.

The Beach Boys - Pet Sounds

Pet Sounds

Pet Sounds is from 1966; one year before The Beatles Sgt. Pepper album was released. Pet Sounds also uses various instruments that are played throughout the songs, making for some listening experience. It is one of the best albums ever. The 1999 edition has extra songs and mixes. Some of my favorites are "Wouldn't It Be Nice", "I'm Waiting for the Day", "Sloop John B", "God Only Knows", "I Know There's An Answer", "Here Today", "Pet Sounds", and "Hang On to Your Ego". I also like their SMiLE and Sounds of Summer: The Very Best of The Beach Boys albums.

Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band

Sgt. Pepper is one of the best albums ever, and my favorite psychedelic album. Some of the songs have an orchestra playing, like "A Day in the Life" and "Good Morning Good Morning", making the album sound very different than any of The Beatles other albums. My favorite song is "Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite!". "A Day in the Life" is the most memorable song on the album. "Getting Better" is a fun song and is another one of my favorites. "Within You Without You", "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds", "With a Little Help from My Friends", "Fixing a Hole", "She's Leaving Home", "When I'm Sixty-Four", "Lovely Rita", "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band", and "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (Reprise)" make up the rest of this classic album from 1967. I also like their A Hard Day's Night, Help!, Rubber Soul, Revolver, Magical Mystery Tour, The White Album, Abbey Road, Anthology 1, and 1 albums.

Surrealistic Pillow is from 1967 and is psychedelic rock and folk rock. It is my favorite Jefferson Airplane album. The 2003 edition has some extra songs and mono versions. My favorites are "She Has Funny Cars", "Somebody to Love", "Today", "D.C.B.A. -25", "Embryonic Journey", "White Rabbit", "Plastic Fantastic Lover", "Go to Her", and "Come Back Baby".

Some other songs I like are "Ball and Chain", Try (Just a Little Bit Harder)", "One Good Man", "As Good As You've Been to This World ", "Tell Mama", "Bye, Bye Baby", "Blindman", "The Last Time", "Turtle Blues", "Down On Me", "Get It While You Can", "Magic of Love", and "Catch Me Daddy". Many more songs are here, along with live versions of songs and outtakes.
